Coronavirus: Bali begins mass vaccinations in three holiday regions. In the next step, the areas designated as “green zones” should first be reopened to international tourism.

Indonesia is preparing to revive tourism in the island nation. The popular holiday island of Bali will be the first region of the country to open to foreign holidaymakers. It has now been confirmed that three so-called green zones have been designated on Bali. It should start in the three holiday regions of Ubud, Nusa Dua and Gianyar. When exactly foreign tourists spend their holidays in Bali here is still unclear. At the moment, the first thing to do is to ensure that as many people as possible in the three green zones are vaccinated against Corona. The focus is on the employees who work in the tourism sector. It is planned to vaccinate around 150,000 people. The Chinese vaccine Sinovac will be used. In addition to Sinovac, vaccination with AstraZeneca was actually planned. However, these have been postponed for the time being due to various reports from Europe regarding the formation of blood clots and a possible connection with the vaccination of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
